The Olympus Pen EE is a cool camera.
I use it like… well let me shoot the 72 frames and then we’ll see what comes out.

I toke the Olympus with me this week and that’s exctlly what I’ve done.
The pictures of Daido Moriyama in New York, back in 1971 using an Olympus Pen were in my mind and there I went with the camera hanging from my wrist, snapping left and right, pretending I was Moriyama.

Well it turns out I’m no Moriyama and I’ve made a mistake mixing the developer, I didn’t made enough. A lot of things went wrong with this roll but… I like some of the images. Yes, they are bad images, I know that, but there’s something… so expressive in film itself that makes them special. Enlarging half a negative really brings out the grain in a beautiful way even if the picture is only a blurry black and white stain.

PS: I got a Gibson Les Paul when I was 17 and I didn’t turn into no Jimmy Page!
There is an old saying in Portuguese that goes like this: “The dumbest of all donkeys is the one that does not learn”.
